-The DVD's mentioned in the journal entry below arrived. I'm amazed at how simple the theory of "magic" really is. It's astounding, actually. Cautionary note: if you know someone who is good at "magic tricks" and/or sleight of hand, they are not to be trusted! LOL These guys are amazing masters of mental manipulation. Pardon the allitteration.



-I'm watching the movie "Posiedon" right now. The irony of this does not escape me.

I decided I needed a hobby. Days at sea get VERY boring. We've been playing a lot of cribbage on the ship, and we're running low on cards. So, I went to Amazon.com to order some. I ran across some nifty decks and ordered them. The company that prints and distributes them, via Amazon, is based off of a website dealing with street magic (think David Blaine and Chris Angel), card tricks and all those badass illussions that are so popular on TV.



I've always wanted to learn card tricks and card flourishes. Deck manipulation fascinates me. I also like to play poker. These two things are like chocolate and peanutbutter. They just go together.



So, I ordered a couple of DVDs and a few more decks of cards. I'm looking forward to receiving them. I may have that hobby I was looking for.
